A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far Far Away...

It has been six years since the death of Emperor Palpatine and the destruction of the second Death Star at the Battle of Endor. Although the Rebel Alliance had met its goals, the victory was not without tragic defeat. A second Imperial arrived as the Death Star blew up and the Rebel Fleet was destroyed down to the last frigate. Few star fighters escaped and the majority of the leaders of the alliance found their graves.

The moon Endor and its native species suffered greatly as toxic waste and debris rained down upon the planet for years. Its ecosystem began to die and billions of life forms went extinct. Some of the Heroes of Yavin who were on Endor were never heard from again. Although the rebellion was effectively crushed, the Imperial Empire began to crumble at the seams as Moffs and Grand Admirals fought for control. Three years after Endor the powerful Baron Tapani took control of a third of the Imperial Fleet and broke off from the Empire. A second faction loyal to Moff Shella Motti, niece to Grand Moff Tarkin, took control of Carida, Commennor, and Corellia and named her small empire the Tarkin Alliance. The sole remaining faction loyal to the Emperor and his Empire consolidated its power and held Coruscant with weapons found in the deep core. Leading this group was a Warlord and self imposed Regent of the Empire Krados. Krados wore the armor of a Sith Lord and his face is covered in a mask that invokes the fear that Darth Vader once controlled. These three factions now fight against each other in a civil war none seem to hold an edge to win.

In the vacuum of power, a shadowy Hutt name Juggra united the ruined Black Sun crime syndicate and the remains of Jabba’s crime empire. This new and powerful underworld group set up fleets of starships and hired the most notorious mercenary armies in the galaxy. Under the banner of the Black Star Consortium, the Hutts and Falleen pushed all Imperial and Rebel remnants from their controlled area of the Outer Rim. A Falleen named Khessis Vhran was named High Lord and was given the power to run the space now controlled by the Black Star crime syndicate.

In the outer rim not controlled by Baron Tapani, Empire, or Black Star, Wild Free Space is full of systems that are completely free. These systems have much that the rest of the galaxy wants. Freedom, free choice, and autonomy protected by militias but also protected by several new declared armies and the armada of Maldalore, Quarllen, and the Mon Calamari.
