Background

Pieter Gautier is a human cleric, in service to Corellon. His father Markus, a struggling blacksmith, hoped his only child one day would take over the family business, but Pieter had other plans. Pieter was a fun-loving and trouble-making 19 year old, with only a taste for the drink and an eye for the ladies, until perhaps a higher power intervened? Soon after his 20th birthday, Pieter had trouble sleeping. He would have horrible visions of Ardalest in ruin, demons descending upon the city and destroying everything in sight. Convinced his visions were to become future events, he sought out the help of the local Priest, a Priest of Corellon. The Priest heard everything he had to say, and suggested Pieter pray to Corellon for guidance. Pieter was not a man of faith, and mocked the gods often. Without any serious thought to it, he did pray to Corellon that night and asked for help. Pieter claims on that very night he was visited by Corellon in his sleep, and Corellon explained a war was to come soon, and that if Pieter wanted to stop this future he foresaw he needed to don the robes of Corellon, and enlist as a cleric.

Pieter was now convinced, and the next day spoke the local Priest about becoming a cleric for Corellon.

It has now been about six months since Pieter has become a cleric of Corellon. Although he has taken a vow of celibacy in the service, he still has a hard time giving up the drink, claiming he receives visions from Corellon when he might just really be drunk. His father is upset that his son did not become a blacksmith, but also proud that his son has a noble calling. Pieter is still very immature as any 20 year old should be, but he has a good heart, and when semi-sober, will defend his mates fiercely.
