Northreach Session 9: Thunderspire Mountain

Session 9 Summary
Back in the Seven Pillared Hall, the group split up their treasure loot and went to talk to Gendar. Gendar bought some of their merchandise and told them about that there was no known map to the area where the Black Fang Gnolls where hiding deep within the labyrinth. Gendar did give the party the name of a scout named Terlen Darkseeker who frequents the Halfmoon Inn.
The party arrived at the Halfmoon Inn and a Golbin found them with a note. Some mysterious person wanted them to help him. They decided to head over to the location where they were summoned. Julian, Sora, and Findo were to head straight in while Tinverton would get position. However, when the party arrived they found the cavern was suspiciously strategic and there was no way not to go in and not get trapped. They entered and of course it was a trap. Thanks Admiral Ackbar.
A huge minotaur golem attacked pushing a huge boulder into our heroes and crushed them against the cave wall. 2 Tieflings attacked as well but Tinverton escaped up the wall to stab at the attackers. The Tieflings kept teleporting when hit and finally our party defeated the golem as well as the others. Among their corpses they found two notes about killing the heroes, an Elven cloak, and a map to the Gnoll's layer.
The party took a break in the Severn Pillared Hall and headed to find the Gnolls. They arrived in the first large cavern to find 5 demon faced minotaur statues. A booming voice laughing maniacally and then another booming something about followers of Baphemut. Suddenly 2 long tentacled chokers dropped from the ceiling and grappled at the party. As the party scattered, a huge tentacled monster erupted from the ground and attacked. The party defeated all the monsters and found a magical dagger that Tinverton took.
Into the depths of the fortress they went and found a dire boar surrounded by Gnoll Huntmasters. They battled in a huge room separated by a hay bale fence which FIndo and Tinverton simply went around and surprised more huntmasters. Findo ignited the hay bales and Tinverton, Sora, Julian, and Grundor ripped the rest of the gnolls to pieces. The party looked at the dire boar after they looted everything and saw that his collar read "Deep Gem Mining Co." They decided to let the Deep Gem Mining Co know where their dire boar was once they got back to the Seven Pillared Hall instead of risking releasing it. They gave it some food and headed deeper into the keep.
