Northreach Session 8: Thunderspire Mountain

Session 8 Summary

Fresh from battle the group followed the Theurge through the doorway right into the reach of an ogre and four orc guards. The battle ensued with the orcs, the final scout, the Theurge, and the ogre died. After searching the bodies and the three bedrooms Tinverton found 3 rubies (100 gp each) and 30 gold pieces in a lockbox.

They searched onwards and found to more doors. At the first door Tinverton heard someone getting a serious tongue lashing in goblin. Someone was paying for some really poor choices. At the second door Tinverton heard nasty snake like voices threatening bodily harm and it was decided to enter this room first. They discovered two Duergar guards, 1 Duergar Pit Boss, and 2 spine devils tormenting dozens of slaves. Another battle ensued with Findo nearly dying. During the battle the Pit Boss was knocked into one of the slave pits and Tinverton with Julian jumped down with him. This left Findo and Grundor to deal with spine devils. During the battle Findo was nearly killed three times and it took Tinverton nearly dying as well to kill the devils and free the slaves. After healing up a bit, the group kicked in the door of the final Duergar leader’s room and routed the two shock troopers, the Grimmer leader, and another Duergar in the room. They found 261 gold pieces, an onyx demon idol(250 gold pieces), an amulet of health +2, and a flaming maul +2.

Along with the other slaves, ten of them were from Julian’s village and an ex-Blood Reaver goblin who had been sold into slavery by his own friends offered his services to the party. It seemed that Findo took to caring for this sad Goblin on the journey back to the Seven Pillared Hall.
