Northreach Session 1: Keep on the Shadowfell

• The party (Sora, Tinvertin, Arjhen, and Pieter) arrived in Winterhaven after experiencing an ambush by Kobolds along the road to Winterhaven. Tinvertin tried to charm and be diplomatic to the tower guards but ended up looking crazy but continued his gracefulness through the gates. Sora took over and got directions to the inn where the party headed to. In the inn they talked to the bar tender. The group also had a conversation with the town sage Valthren about the old keep. Ellian the farmer who told them about their friend Douvaan and the directions to the burial site. Group found out about another dwarf, Old Ther the blacksmith in town.
• Tiverton and Pieter decided to hit on an elven ranger in the corner both getting outright rejected. Sora won 10 gp from both Arjhen and Pieter. The group toured through town and Tinvertin tried to charm a young elven girl selling wares. As they toured through the town they stopped at the General store and the smithy to ask about Douven. It seemed no one but the farmer had talked or seen Douven much.
• The group saw through an archway a large home and wandered up to the open gates. They talked with the guards when questioned and decided to talk to Lord Padrag about the Kobold situation. They were able to see Lord Padrag and agreed to end the Kobold raider threat. Tinvertin was not able to convince Lord Padrag to join them at dinner at the Inn but Sora was able to as the group left for the inn.
• After returning to the inn, Arjhen discovered more about young elven girl brooding over her drink. She was a scout/ranger but declined to be hired. He offered that if she ever needed something it was his word that they would help her.
• They all sat down and an easy barmaid gave Tinvertin his opening and after dinner with Lord Padrag, he vanished into her arms while the rest of the party slept.
• In the morning they headed to the burial site and were ambushed by more Kobolds. A sculpture of a dragon with the sign of Orcus on the bottom was recovered along with some items.
• The group made their way to the burial site and found 4 diggers, a foreman, and a guard drake at the site along with a restrained Douven. Pieter walked over trying to be peaceful but the party was quickly attacked by those at the site and a slinger. Working together they quickly dispatched the foreman who was sneaky, the slinger, the drake, and two diggers. Two others surrendered.
• They returned to town with Douven and decided to head to find the Kobold lair. They found it with relative ease and tried to be stealthy at first but Arjhen’s armour gave them away. Due to Tinvertin’s deadly aim and the Kobold’s underestimating their foes they killed the guards on the outside. They moved into the tunnels and together flanked the Kobold’s dispatching their leader but nearly losing two members in the fight. After raiding the treasure and taking heads the party returned to Winterhaven victorious. They also discovered a scroll to the Kobold’s leader making some revelations about a portal that would be opened soon.
