Northreach Session 13: Pyramid of Shadows

Session 13:

Findo Vrinn, Pieter, Allanon, Julian, and Tinverton followed the map to the so called Pyramid of Shadows which led them into a wooded area out in the middle of no where. When they arrived close to where the map said the pyramid would be the group was ambushed by brigands and a drake. After defeating the ambushing marauders, the group searched for the entrance.

As they searched a dark shade appeared stating that those who sought the pyramid had a variety of questions asking the group why they sought the Pyramid of Shadows. The shade doesn’t say it’s name or what it is but the group tells the shade they are looking to find out who Karavakos is, why the Shades are interested in the pyramid, and what great power it holds. The shade replies simply with “all the answers lie within the Pyramid of Shadows” and vanishes.

A small black pyramid sits on the ground where the shade vanished and Tinverton tries to pick it up. A sudden force pulls all the members of the group deep into darkness. When they can see again they are instantly attacked by a two headed Ettin and twin carrion crawlers. The Ettin goes after Tinverton and Allanon carrying on about their heads. The group manages to defeat the monsters and recovers the head of Vyrellis from several hooks on the wall where the Ettin was storing his heads. The orb head of Vyrellis explains to the group that Karavakos was an evil Feywild warlock who tried to take over the Feywild but was instead imprisoned in the Pyramid of Shadows.

After their conversation with the dead Eladrin mage, Tinverton scouts around the hallways finding a water area and more hallways. Findo, in his infinite wisdom, scouts to the east and is instantly attacked by 2 harpies, 3 Sahuagin raiders, and a Sahuagin priest. The group comes to his rescue and after a pitched battle defeats the enemies. The party decides to take a rest after the pitched battle.
