Hazera's Journal

That bastard…

Bad enough he is still in my thoughts… Bad enough I can hear his voice on the wind… Bastard.

When I flipped the ship I though I heard him for a moment, watching bodies fall from the sky… The monster grabbing them from the air in an orgy of blood! It turns something inside of me. Like a strong wind lifting my entire body… revenge? No it’s more then that… It felt good… I feel like there is a clawing rat locked inside my chest, and as the third or forth body smacked the ground in a bone crushing thud the rat stopped. And the screams… I had to hold my breath… (Laughing aloud with seemingly innocent delight.)

Now the ship is ours.

Keeper of the flame! Who does he think he is?

The rat is back now… clawing and fighting trying to get loose… Pain and panic, panic and pain… never enough to stop me… I can keep going.

Can go back to him and show him what for! Put a sword in his chest then He wont be so Damn Special… I hate him! Why does it hurt so much when I think of him… WHY can’t I stop thinking of him. Him and the rat, clawing clawing clawing.

Toss myself from the side? NO… To much to do…feed the rat, get rid of Dominic…feed the rat…

I can’t let the other’s know…

Marius's Promise

I am thinking this happens Sometime in flight.

Hazera slips into Marius's quarters… and quietly tries to wake him. A gloved hand shaking his shoulder, whispering, “Marius… Marius… Wake up I need help!”

Slowly wiping the sleep away from his eyes and squinting towards you, "What is it? Are we under attack?!" His hand going for his sword...

"What? No..." Hazera mutters.

She steps into a beam of moonlight cascading from your window... While her cheeks are dry it's clear that she has been crying, both her blue and hazel eyes are bloodshot.

"My... My powers. I can't stop the energy." hiccup "I didn't mean to hurt Trina, I just wanted to look at her...It's affecting my mind. I can control it but only just barley." Hazera rushes the words out... glancing around in a paranoid fashion. "I can't touch anyone, anymore... " Hazera Buries her head in her hands and sighs from relief that she succeeded in a confession.

“Trina!? Is she alright?!” Marius says, In a booming voice fueled by adrenaline, “Hazera what did you do to Trina!”

Seeing Hazera cringe at the vocal onslaught, Marius closes his eyes and chastises himself. He knows Hazera is not a soldier, only a scared little girl who’s been through a great deal. Pulling on a shirt but without buttoning it he kneels before the tiny girl before him.

He exhales slowly, calming himself and in a much softer tone, “Hazera, tell me what happened. Is Trina ok...” Noticing the dried tears on her face, “…are you alright?” He reaches out to put his hand on her…

Hazera, Backs away quickly slamming herself into the wall on accident, "No, Don't... You can't touch me! Trina's ok... I didn't touch her again... Ayana healed her remember." Bowing, Hazera, pulls her hair away from the back of her neck, "Marius, I'm afraid... It's going to make me into what my father is... I would beg you to kill me now..."

Raising her head, she looks at Marius her blue eye shining in the darkness... "But I would only return more wicked."

Still kneeling, Marius watches her recoil from his touch. He knows she is tainted in some fashion, the growing darkness becoming evident. Could Father Natale have done this to her? So many questions and having just been awoken his brain isn’t functioning at full capacity.

"…kill me now…”? He feels his sword still in its scabbard in his right hand. One swift stroke could do it, but why? She is scared, clearly…but could that growing darkness consume her? He shakes his head, chasing the thoughts away…

“I will not kill you girl.” He slowly stands, towering over Hazera, “I have seen the good in you, your strength. We have trusted each other with our lives and I shan’t take yours.” Turning and placing his sword on his bed.

“Whatever grows inside you we will battle it together. We will find some way to save you from the fate of your father.” He pauses for a moment, “If Malidin’s people do not know of a way to help you I know someone who does…” Dreading the prospect of going into the heart of his family’s domain…

He approaches her again and once more kneels before her, looking up, “When I was young a man taught me the good that inhabits all our hearts, that good that drives us to help others and place them above ourselves. He is a priest [High Priest Roland Silranyth of Dol Dorn] in Sharn.”

“Do you trust me Hazera?”

Hazera, Looks down at your face, her brow wrinkled into a frown. Until she smiles sadly and looks away, "Dominic said as much." Hazera opens her left fist and reveals a gem, "I pray... constantly. To the Silver Flame... to any God that will listen and pity me." Hazera takes a cautious step towards Marius, resting a gloved hand on his shoulder, he feels his body warmth flooding away, but experience no harm or pain. Her body hovers an inch away from his, her ungloved hand almost touching his cheek, desperately seeking warmth but afraid to get burnt. "I trust you." She whispers looking deep into Marius's eyes, "But you have to promise me... When your priests fail" Hazera moves her face along side His, the hair on the back of his neck stands on end as she whispers... "You have to help me find a way to die." A cold tear lands on Marius's shoulder as she pushes herself away, seeking the comfort of the wall against her back.

Looking at the Door Behind the fighter, Hazera asks, "May I pass?"

Standing up and slowly moving to the side to let her pass, “You have my word Hazera, if we fail you, I will give you the peace you seek.”

A shiver runs through his body as Hazera pass, “But we will save you from that fate”…

Hazera smiles quietly and nods, assured that Marius will do what she asked.
