Session Logs

  • Session #1 -

Background

  • Kyp was born into poverty on Metellos, but he didn't stay long. After his initial training, he was taken as a padawan by Lira Varal, even though he didn't appear to have much potential (he was often reprimanded for laziness & lack of focus). Lira must've seen something in him, however, as she chose him even when the other knights suggested otherwise.
  • Although the road was winding, Kyp eventually fell in line. He had great respect for Lira, she was like an older sister to him. He even learned to speak Sullustese. When the Clone Wars broke out, they had several varied assignments, but Kyp saw very little action. He spent most of his time doing "gopher" work for Lira. Though, on occasion, he ended a surly battle droid's run.
  • Since Order 66 Kyp's been in hiding, travelling with a clone trooper (Josh's character) who helped him escape. Stashing his lightsaber & unwilling to use his force training since witnessing the death of his master. He froze when the troopers began to fire, out of sight, he hid for days before he could make his escape. Since then, he's relived that event nightly, he feels he failed his master by letting fear cloud his judgment, and therefore, not qualified to be a jedi.
  • He resents the empire, but doesn't yet realize he has the potential to be a "hero." He might be convinced to dust off his lightsaber (so to speak) for a good cause..

Goals:

  • Redeem himself (especially in the eyes of Lira's family) for his inaction during Order 66
  • Be of some use, perhaps by working against the tyranny of the empire.
  • Find enlightenment.

1 JediTalentDeflectAs a reaction, you may negate a ranged attack by making a successful Use the Force check. The DC of the skill check is equal to the result of the attack roll you wish to negate, and you take a cumulative -5 penalty on your Use the Force check for every time you have used Block or Deflect since the beginning of your last turn. You must have a lightsaber drawn and ignited to use this talent, and you must be aware of the attack and not flat-footed. You can use this talent to deflect some of the barrage of shots fired from a ranged weapon set on autofire. If you succeed on the Use the Force check, you take half damage if the autofire attack hits and no damage if the autofire attack misses. This talent has no effect on other area attacks (such as grenades, missiles, and flamethrowers). This talent cannot be used to negate attacks made by Colossal (frigate) or larger-size vehicles unless the attack is made with a point-defense weapon.
