Character Creation
These are taken directly from a pair of articles I read on character creation. These are the most basic rules I expect almost every character that joins one of my campaigns to follow:
1. The character must work in a group 2. The character must be fun for the player and the rest of the party 3. The character must be good at heart 4. Would the character go adventuring? 5. The character must fit the campaign style 6. The character must have long term goals 7. The player must be able to actually play the character
The articles include a lot more information on why each of these rules is included. Personally, I'm willing to bend some of the rules (notably #3 and #7) if the concept is excellent and still fulfills most of the others.
For this first campaign, I'm also going to add an additional requirement, in that each PC should have some sort of ties to at least one (and preferably many) of the other PCs. We can hash out the specific details at the meeting on Saturday, but this should give you some guidelines to shoot for.
Character Attributes:
Iron Heroes Point Buy: All stats start at 10. You can buy ability points for 1 point each up to 15. Raising an additional point to 16 or 17 costs 2 points, and 18 costs 4 points. Default number of points is 24. You can sacrifice one stat (but only one) for 1-2 bonus points by reducing the score to 9 or 8.
