You force your way into the target's mind, gaining access to his surface thoughts and senses. While this power is in effect, you project an image of yourself to the target, which you can use to communicate. This image takes the form of a mental image, similar to that generated by false sensory image, that only the target can perceive, with the details of the form (size, shape, description) decided by you. Other than this image, the power does not confer any sort of control of the target, who can act normally in all respects. For the duration of this power, any power with the mind-affecting descriptor that targets the subject is also considered to have you as a target, even if the manifester isn't aware that you are present within the subject's mind.
While this power is in effect, your own physical body enters a comatose trancelike state. It suffers all the normal penalties for exposure or lack of necessities such as food, water, or air. If your body dies, the power ends immediately and you die. Once the power has been manifested, the target need not stay within range of your body, but if the target travels to another plance, you are returned to your body. If the target dies while the power is in effect and your mind is present, you are forced back into your body and must make a DC 20 Fortitude saving throw or take 2d6 Wisdom drain.
If you augment to increase the duration of the power, you can manifest powers using your power point reserve while treating the target as the manifester. Because the target still retains control of his body, this does not provoke an attack of opportunity. If the target takes damage while you are manifesting a power, you must make a Concentration check as though you had been hit.
Augment: You can augment this power in one or more of the following ways:
- If you spend 4 additional power points, the target need not be willing.
- If you spend 2 additional power points, this power can also affect an animal, fey, giant, magical beast, or monstrous humanoid.
- If you spend 4 additional power points, this power can also affect an aberration, dragon, elemental, or outsider in addition to the creature types mentioned above.
- For every 2 addiional power points you spend, this power can affect an additional target. Any additional target cannot be more than 15 feet from another target of the power. Your presence can only occupy a single target at a time, but you can switch between affected targets as a move action on your turn.
- If you spend 1 additional power point, this power's duration is 1 hour rather than concentration. If you spend 2 additional power points, this power's duration is 1 day rather than concentration. If you spend 4 additional power points, this power's duration is 1 day per manifester level rather than concentration.
