The Gargoyle's Eyrie
The Gargoyle's Eyrie is a popular inn and tavern in the district of Cassan's Bridge in Middle Menthis. The tavern is owned and operated by Harel Laran and his wife Elina. It is frequented by many Brelish war veterans, and the common room is typically filled to capacity from the early evening until closing in the small hours of the morning.
The Eyrie is mildly famous for its honeymead and spicy sausage, both specialties of the chief cook, Garick Hammerhome, and for its bouncers, Jelicar and Cald, both gargoyles.

The Larans
A portly gentleman approaching 60 years of age, Harel Laran is a staunch Brelish patriot, having volunteered for the Army when he was only 25, and serving with distinction until his discharge 20 years later. He met his wife, Elina, who was working as a nurse on the Aundairan front, and they fell in love and got married. They had three children, two boys and a girl over the years.
When their boys came of age, they both joined the military. Their eldest, Mikhi, was killed in action against the Karrnathi, while their younger son, Justik, was fighting in Cyre on the Day of Mourning. Harel and Elina are very proud of their sons, but prefer not to speak of them, given the emotions such memories dredge up.
Elina Laran is a stout woman with a heart of gold. She treats every one of the Eyrie's regular patrons as though one of her own children, though her memory is fading, and she has a problem with names. She typically runs the kitchen, while Harel runs the bar.
Harel and Elina's daughter Kayli, a winsome young woman who just turned 17, also works in the tavern as a waitress. She has aspirations of becoming a singer, but her responsibilities at the inn typically prevent her from pursuing such a career.
Jelicar and Cald
These two gargoyles have worked with the Larans for the past 15 years, since their rescue as infants by Elina Laran, during her time in Droaam. The are unshakably loyal to the Larans, and would go to great lengths to be sure they are unharmed. Jelicar is the elder of the two, and typically takes a perch above the bar, while Cald roosts above the main door.
Garick Hammerhome
Garick is a more recent addition, having only come to the tavern in the last five years. He is unusually taciturn, his idea of a animated conversation being a few grunts and maybe a nod. No one seems to know where he came from or why he chose to make his home in Sharn, but his mead and sausage have brought in so much patronage that the bar can barely keep up.
